Why not have a try at
bowls? It is great fun, easy to learn and you will meet some really
nice people. Like many games,
the object of bowls is essentially simple. It can be played by
anyone, but to play consistently well demands determination,
concentration and practice.
Storrington Bowling
Club is a thriving, friendly, mixed club and welcomes new or
experienced bowlers: men, ladies, and juniors.
Our green can be found
in the central part of the village (West Street, RH20 4EE) adjacent
to the Storrington Social Club where our members entertain visiting
clubs.
We have an extensive
summer programme with around 90 matches, which include league team
matches for the men and the ladies together with friendly games for
men, ladies and mixed teams. We welcome touring clubs as well as our
local opponents. County matches are also held on our green.
The Green is open every
day and members can play free of charge seven days a week. The
season runs from the middle of April to the end of September.
During early May we
have four open days. Everyone is most welcome: inexperienced,
experienced, young or old. Just come along and meet some of our
members and try bowling on the green. We have a number of qualified
coaches who are on hand to assist. Our open days and times are: 10am
to 1pm on Saturdays 7th and 14th of May and 10am to 4pm on Sundays 8th and 15th May.
New bowlers have a
short induction including at least four hours individual tuition by
a qualified coach. Bowls can be borrowed initially and all that is
needed for the open days is a pair of flat soled trainers or bowling
shoes.
Membership is good
value for money and
“There are no strangers
at this club: only friends you have yet to meet”
So, give it a try!
