CLUB TOUR 2010

Club tour to Torquay - 5th - 12th September, 2010

After a very successful 2009 tour to Bournemouth, the 2010 tour is booked at the well appointed Toorak Hotel on Chestnut Avenue, Torquay, Devon, TQ2 5JS                     Website at: www.tlh.co.uk

The Toorak Hotel is the premier Hotel in a group of four near the centre of Torquay.

Matches have been arranged at six clubs in the area: Torbay, Newton Abbot, Torquay Belgrave, Teignmouth Den, Brixham St Mary's and Babbacombe.   The hotel has a good record of hosting bowls tours and running bowling events.    Indeed they have an indoor green which we can use for £1 each per session, a bowls shop, swimming pools and short mat opportunities.

We have booked a coach company, “Abbot” of Newton Abbot, recommended by the Hotel.   The Hotel has given us advice and help in arranging matches.   We plan to follow the usual balance of activities, taking on board suggestions from tour members.   In addition the Hotel has a full programme of entertainment.

We are going to one of the top bowls touring centres in the country.   It should be a first class tour.   It represents very good value for money and we do hope the tour will be well supported.

If you wish to contact us for further information or application forms, do have a word with one of us in the Club email johnarim@aol.com, or ring 01903 744832.

Storrington Bowling Club is delighted to welcome touring teams from other clubs;   we endeavour to host our visitors in good bowling tradition.   Our green is recognised as one of the best in Sussex.   We can provide bar and refreshment facilities before and after matches.   Our location at the foot of the South Downs, is 10 miles north of Worthing and within easy reach of Arundel, Chichester and Brighton.   There are several places of interest within a few miles of Storrington.    We hosted nine touring sides in 2009; some are regulars and others are first time visitors.
